Asst Prof Komatsu receives Young Researcher Encouragement Award at the Japanese Society for Biomedical Engineering China-Shikoku Branch Meeting
On October 8, 2022, the 45th Japanese Society for Biomedical Engineering China-Shikoku Branch Meeting was held at Kawasaki Medical Welfare University in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture. The conference featured 16 general presentations and one special presentation. Assistant Professor Komatsu, a vititing researcher from cardiovascular Surgery at our lab, presented his research on "Mechanical Function Evaluation Using Length-Tension Relationships in Isolated Human Cardiomyocytes."
Assistant Professor Komatsu's presentation developed a method for evaluating the mechanical function of cardiomyocytes using the length-tension relationship of isolated human cardiomyocytes. This method is characterized by its high accuracy in evaluating the mechanical function of cardiomyocytes.
Assistant Professor Komatsu's presentation was highly evaluated by the judges and received the Best Young Researcher Encouragement Award. This award is given to excellent presentations by young researchers under the age of 39.
